Landscape architect Susan Saarinen´s grandfather was architect Eliel Saarinen and her father architect Eero Saarinen. Saarinen Landscape Architecture has been in business since 1980. First established in Winchester Massachusetts, the firm moved to Golden, Colorado, in 1990.
Susan Saarinen, born in the Midwest, has lived in the Boston area, Rhode Island, Vermont and Golden, Colorado. She has traveled extensively, giving her a perspective on diverse historical expressions, cultures and environments. In addition to earning a master's degree in landscape architecture, she holds a Bachelor's degree in art and when time allows, she heads for the art studio.
