Hera Ware Owen Seattle 2007

Hera Ware Owen has danced in the Martha Graham company, among others. Her family came from Tuohikotti near Kouvola in Finland. Hera has been involved for many years with the Seattle Nordic Center and has donated a lot of material to the Center’s Finland Room.

Hera's husband Robert Owen was the chief conservationist for Micronesia, Hera was the Director of the Palau Museum for many years. In 1974 after living in Palau at the Pacific Ocean for 25 years she published a cook book "Bat Soup and Other Recipes from the South Seas."

In her foreword Mrs. Owen writes: "The purpose of this little book is to pass on some of the recipes of foods that I have served in Palau that people have liked."
