Harold Vuorenmaa Ironwood 2007

Harold Vuorenmaa’s parents had 14 children and 13 cows. His father came to Munising, Michigan in the early 1900s. He also worked in the Quincy Mine in Hancock, Michigan before becoming a farmer in Ironwood. Harold now lives on the old family farm together with his wife Irene. Their children have moved elsewhere.

Harold Vuorenmaa worked for 18 years in a steel mill and also as a milkman, at the local Ahonen mill, at a plywood factory, and as a bricklayer’s helper in addition to carpentry work. Hunting is Harold’s pastime. He has a .33 Winchester and many prize-winning hunting dogs.
