5th Finglish trip July 2007 #10

Kent Randell is living in his grandfather’s old home region of Calumet, Michigan because of his studies. He complains that his trailer doesn’t have a mobile phone signal or an Internet connection.

His great-grandparents came in the 1880s from Tervola in Finland to work in the mines and to farm. Although Kent comes from an Apostolic Lutheran family, he converted to the Quaker faith because of his pacifist convictions.
