Lake Worth and Lantana 2006

3rd Finglish trip March 2006 #1

South Florida is said to have the largest Finnish-American community outside of Europe, with about 30,000 Finnish-Americans, Finnish Canadians, Finnish nationals, and seasonal residents living in the area.

Finnish is the fourth most widely-spoken minority language in the Lake Worth-Lantana area after Spanish, Creole and Russian.

Finland House - Suomi Talo in Lantana and American Finnish Club - Kerhotalo in Lake Worth are the two hubs in Florida where Finnish culture is cherished.
